WebJan 2, 2007 · im in the middle of this strain isolation with orissa india. the mycelium on all of my plates is slow growing and show no rhizo's even after the 2nd transfer. i also germinated SA spores on agar which shows aggressive mycelium that colonised a whole plate in just a few days. the OI mycelium is just weak and hasnt colonised any of my older plates. WebI've seen APEs do that before just not on that scale. It's tomentose mycelium as opposed to the more commonly seen rhizomorphic. Tomentose, which looks quite blobby, occurs when the mycelium doesnt have to spread out looking for food sources which is what rhizomorphic tends to do.
